The world building is very good, there is a lot of action and mystery, but the romance is crap.[/For context, ML is an alien butterfly and doesn't good looks, and because of this, both MC and other characters make snide comments about his appearance, calling him ugly, a monster, an abomination, disgusting, and other cruel things. The poor guy even went as far as to hide his own face because he didn't want MC to see his appearance and cried his eyes out over it. This went on until the chapter I read (82) and shows no signs of stopping any time soon.I mean, I like slow burn, but is it really necessary to stretch this cruel bullying over 80 chapters?But that's not the reason why I dropped the romance, because I understand that it can (AND SHOULD!!!) be developed.MC has an ex-fiancé who went crazy and killed himself called Xavier and, when ML finds out about him, he starts transforming into Xavier's appearance to try to win MC over and it really works, MC becomes a little more docile with him, but makes it clear that it's because he looks like Xavier.The cherry on top of the cake and the reason for my fury was that MC promised that he would give a name to Number One (ML's nickname) after he went through the metamorphosis and guess what the name was? Xavier. I thought "maybe there will be more development and he will get his own name and not be on Xavier shadow's anymore" and I was so wrong. I skipped to the last chapter and ML continued named after Xavier.My anger about this is more directed at the author than the MC, because ML wanted to be called Xavier so that he would be loved by MC and MC was just like "oh ok", but it seems like the author can't let go of Xavier and turned ML into a copy of him. If you like Xavier so much, why not just keep him alive and make him ML? Don't do this sh*t and turn ML into a copy of him, damn it. Even the bugs that were born looked like Xavier. Very annoying.I dropped this because even if author makes a shitty development like "Your name is Xavier because now will give it a new meaning and blah blah blah" I won't be able to take it. It will forever feel like ML is a spare version of Xavier for me.]And from what I read there was no real romance developed between them, MC was too busy being disgusted by ML's appearance for 82 CHAPTERS to have any romance.
