Two A’s Aren’t Allowed at One School Chapter -- Discussion

writing this on 3/13/23, when genre states that this is "shounen ai" and the only tag is "college/university" because I know this information makes my review biased.

I thought this was just a fun, lighthearted rivals to lovers abo, and I was so excited that I MTLed it! bad decision. (no hate to the translator, just my review on the novel itself)

Did I read the wrong novel?

I just want to preface to say that I hate the ML for his overbearingness and lack of respect for the MC throughout the novel. He shows his devotion to the MC after the time skip, but honestly, it didn't matter to me because he was such a dislikable character during the majority of the novel.

Speaking about the time skip, I am at a loss for words. I was completely blindsided by social commentary about capitalism and how the rich don't care about ethics in science. I was completely blindsided by... World War 3? that apparently occurred. I wish I was joking when I say World War 3 happened.

This novel is not lighthearted whatsoever, and it might be my fault that I went into this thinking that it was lighthearted. There's a lot of ABO sexism in this novel, a driving factor for the conflict that occurs between MC and his mother, who gives him "suppressants" that cause MC's amnesia.

I'm going to leave my review at this because honestly this novel has made me speechless. I dislike it overall, I hate the ML and I pity the MC.
