The Great Collision of Yin and Yang Chapter 45 Discussion

When the novel says horror, it is indeed horror. Many times did I look at the corner of my room because I became paranoid and I'm someone who's used to reading horror novels at 3 am in the morning.

The writing is great overall and the translations are also superb. The plot twists are something of beauty, like you'd think it's finally over but it's actually so much worse.

It's just that Spoiler

The author is also great at reminding the readers about the icky age gap. While I usually have no problems with enormous age gaps between human and non-human relationships, the fact that ML and MC got together when MC was 16, and the fact that during that age, MC saw ML as an older brother/father figure makes my stomach curl. ML too keeps emphasizing that MC is too young and I can only say 'Sir, if you think so then maybe you shouldn't have so much s*x with him.' They only had s*x when MC was 18 but still. Inserting the submissive wife kink too.

Another thing is the contradiction which is about Spoiler

MC saying that his life is important since his parents and teacher sacrificed their lives for him but MC is extremely reckless. This is due to the fact that he knows ML will come to save him (he even admits this because many times, ML was pissed about this exact behavior) and I have seen only one arc where ML didn't help (1st arc and even then MC could only do it because of ML's influence) and having MC solve anything on his own, with his own power, without any assistance from ML. It's being adressed though in the recent chapters translated so I can only hope that MC will have any shred of independence from ML before the novel ends.

Depending if the author will make the MC and ML have the chararacter growth they desperately need and wherever the plot is heading to, my ratings will change accordingly. Will probably wait for translations instead of mtl because the translator/s are doing an amazing job.
