Started to MTL this after breezing through the available chapters, but flatly couldn't go on. I felt it a great pity that such good writing (and translating!) was wasted on the usual "there's a reason they ab*sed their children" type subplot. I feel like a lot of authors who write this kind of thing are reaching for meaning and reasons that all fundamentally don't matter when you put it next to the fact of the year-long ab*se they depict.The reason doesn't matter in that kind of situation. Once, you can maybe think about the reason, but it's never just once. I felt it was really ironic that Spoiler
the MC made a little speech/warning to his mother about that re her currrnt shitty relationship, too, so you know the author understands that concept. But of course the MC began taking care of his shitty father anyway because, it's his father. Vomit.
