Not what I wanna read right now but not as awful as people make it out to be.Most people’s biggest issue with this novel seems to basically be the Clark Kent/super man effect. Everyone thinks it’s extremely obvious but the reality is people aren’t nearly as observant or smart as they think they are. As an observer sitting outside the story things are obvious to us because we have all the facts, but if you were actually in the situation where you don’t have all the facts you’d behave differently. As a reader you don’t have the same emotions as someone in the situation does.Obviously the author has failed to get your emotional investment but that’s more a characterization flaw.In the end I dropped this. More because I realized it wasn’t going to be a fully happy go lucky story and that’s all I really want to read right now.Its middle of the pack but the author is willing to let the MC suffer setbacks if temporarily. And while many characters are pretty flat the MC and his brother are slowly developing.
