Take this review with a pinch of salt because I've only read the first arc (maybe it gets better, who knows?)...BUT!This novel is really... uncomfortable to read. It's alright saying "read the tags, " but this one really struck a nerve with me. In addition to the infinite flow/super natural elements, it reads as a dark psychological thriller.Because the author makes the (perhaps unwise) choice to show us the MC's thoughts - how uncomfortable he is around the ML, how scared he is of him, how utterly devoid of romantic thoughts he is - it honestly reads as Stockholm syndrome. Not to mention the flashbacks where it's only because the author skirts around it that it isn't called r*pe.Then you have the messy setting. The MC has to play a "cannon fodder character" in concert with the "protagonist" in a horror setting with a team composed of an unknown number of players and also NPCs. No one knows who is a player and who is an NPC, you can't mention the game and you can't OCC. What even is this? What purpose does it serve other than to give the MC the necessary "cannon fodder" role?On top of that, you have the system, which turns on the live broadcasting function at random times - like what they're just about to have s*x. What purpose does it serve other than to have a bunch of commenters in the story going "uwu so cute" "wife" "his attack is here" (<- their words, not mine). In short, this is... not the story to read if you're looking for infinite flow like I was. While the arcs have more tension than the synopsis makes it seem, it's a hot mess otherwise. The MC has fleeting moments where I saw a smart, courageous person, but then he devolves into a pool of jelly on the floor.
