I don't know how to feel about this one.This novel was definitely darker than I've expected even though I read the tags, but I also kinda think.... it's not dark enough? In some aspects?i could only make myself read through the first arc rn so... idk maybe it gets better some parts of this concept just doesn't make sense to me.Like the thing where the MC had to broadcast his game every day?Spoiler
If he's in a horror game why are you only ever broadcasting such a small part of it, and I know it's to show that the MC is just a beautiful useless vase but he still does, nothing? 💀 like really guys?
idk it was weird and just didn't do anything but be kinda annoying to me especially when the ML is forcing himself on the MC and they're just commenting the same empty praises over and over again about the MC's beautiful face and how hot they are together.
[collapse]I can forgive wonky/boring plots sometimes but the romance personally doesn't interest me either. crazy yandere MLs by themselves aren't a dealbreaker to me but the tone with the romance feels so all over the place, with how you got the peanut gallery about the MC's face and the dominating top (ML) in the background as the ML sexually assaults the MC for the nth time?And the s*xual harassment isn't even out of the norm with MLs I've read but it really stands out here and is an actual problem because of how much the author describes how genuinely uncomfortable and scared the MC is of the ML, not to mention how many times the author chooses to mention that the ML has r*ped the MC? Idk all of it just makes the romance read as uncomfortable, in a bad way to me.i don't know if the author just didn't realize how horrifying they wrote their romance or if they did and felt like they would make it too dark if they leaned into it more which resulted in the current tone disparity, but it just doesn't work for me. There's not even anything particularly interesting for me to latch onto with their yandere x unwilling romance because most of it during the first arc (+ past flashbacks) is just... the ML scaring the MC with s*xual assault. the way their relationship is executed so far is just... not fun or interesting. It's treated like a romance but it reads more like an abandoned psychological horror story.
