Superstar Aspirations Chapter 50 Discussion

This is a very fun story, but it's also vapid. Read it for a silly time, for laughs, and smiles. Don't read it to improve your mind. So far, it is entirely without substance, but it makes me laugh. I'm not reading this story to have a deep connection with the characters - it might sound mean to say, but the characters aren't deep enough to let that exist.

They are almost more like caricatures instead of characters.

But I feel good reading it. I laugh at the ML, and I feel content for MC. I like the temperament of MC, I like reading these star stories because I enjoy the rapid fire adjusting to new stories and scenarios when they change movies or tv shows. There's some drama here, but not significant amounts. Sometimes it feels good to read a story where everything is going right and is comfortable for someone. (Also sometimes it feels good to read the opposite, but that's not this story's purpose.

I do have moments of feeling a little uncomfortable with the ML. MC is 18 (in this world, he did live some life in another world and transmigrated to this age, so we the readers and the MC don't think of him as a child, but ML doesn't know any of that.), ML is 27. There's no reason for ML to have fallen in love with MC. He meets him and goes "oh, he's hot." And thats it. Then he's a little obsessive about it. There's no situation to let the ML know anything about MC before he is All In. So, sometimes when I think about a man who is 9 years older than someone at an age that I still consider a child, being super obsessed and spending money and manipulating where he can live... that's uncomfortable. But I'm not sure how fair it is to dwell on that too much, because of how little this story approaches deeper meanings in the characters.

Just because a story isn't high brow doesn't mean it isn't terribly enjoyable. This is like snack food.
