Kinda disappointing tbh. The premise is interesting sure, but 32 chapters in and the MC feels like a cardboard cutout. His moods only ever seem to range from mild annoyance (when thinking about how his life is kinda in danger) to calm. The ML starts simping for him at first sight, which would be fine if it resulted in some sort of emotional or dramatic tension but like with most of everything else in this novel it falls flat because it's again treated as with just mild annoyance by the MC.Even though the MC is Spoiler
severely weakened and in danger of dying to a curse
[collapse] he doesn't struggle against anything at all.Although humour is often a matter of personal preference I also feel like the author didn't try for it all, which in combination with the aforementioned lacking characterisation and tension made 32 chapters hard to slog through.Maybe it gets better later on but to have the first 32 chapters be this boring with such an interesting premise doesn't give me much hope.
