Their story follow this 'childhood sweethearts' thingy, as quoted by all the characters in novel where MC (who was 5-6 years old) is the white moonlight of the ML (4 years old) even though he (ml) doesn't remember clearly due to the manipulation of the hospital (where MC lives) but feelings prevail, even his unclear memory and his overly young age wouldn't stop his love. And that's okay, I have no problem with these kind of troupes since I've read many like these🌝.
However, I expected a more of slow gradual development between the MC and ML since MC was supposed to be dense in these matters that involves feelings and emotions. But this one instance where he first hand got to observe the ambiguous playful relationship between friend/teammate and the hot big sister pursuing him made him enlightened about such and such.
Okay, I get it. That's also okay, who doesn't love an enlightened mc? I wouldn't like it if he were too dense. Now what is my problem with their dynamic? They got together rather quickly without much given to us, the readers.
Well, of course they've already spent time together for a while but bruh, I don't live in their timeline nor do I get to see them 'offstage'. Their first kiss was rather abrupt to me (props to the MC who was curious about these kind of relationships and decided to go with the flow, initiating the kiss after noticing the kind of interest ML had for him).
After their first kiss, nothing much was given. Just a short ass paragraph of how the MC tossed the ML around one night or some vague hints from the ML and his friends. The next detailed description was MC asking about a team during their intimate session. And well, at this point it was rather boring for me.
This novel is not mainly about their romance, most unlimited novels aren't. And so kinda went in expecting good chemistry between the leads, with gradual development. But I guess, that mindset was my mistake and I can't help it either.
[collapse]As such, in my conclusion to the above long ass description (rant), I just want to say that their dynamic was like forcing dry bread and honey down my throat. Dynamics and chemistry between the leads is very important to me when I read novels and this did not give me that.Though other than that, it's good. I won't rate the novel since I have mixed feelings and this might affect the ratings. So well then, goodbye~
