Basically Chinese Pokémon. The three eggs hatched at the beginning were basically Totodile, Snivy (maybe), and Fennekin (I think). Though, I don't have a problem with this actually. Using monsters that we know makes this novel feel more familiar and nostalgic in a way.The MC himself is pretty good too at the beginning. He has his ambition and motivation to become stronger. He's also very kind to his partner monster (unlike some novels where the MC is quite an as*hole to the animals).The world itself is nothing unique so far. Pretty average wuxia world setting.For other characters, they're not too unique either. Though the first villain Spoiler

[collapse] seems to be a bit more three-dimensional, their children are the cliche dickhead young masters.The novel overall isn't anything new, but it does the cliche's relatively decently (?) so not much complaints from me. Plus, I grew up on Pokemon and I like harem so 5 stars so far currently where the novel is translated at.
