The male lead r*pes. And I think that's enough reason for people to avoid reading this altogether. When I spotted the r*pe tag, I thought it was some other insignificant men to portray a part of the plot so I carried out to read the novel, but it turns out our ML is the mf here. It's not even the dubious consent type of r*pe, he straight up r*ped one of his concubine because she spiked his food. Well, I know the concubine was in the wrong but I think he's too ruthless and far past my limit of tolerance of sh*tty ML, and the bar wasn't even that high in the first place. I didn't read enough to get to the reaction of FL (which I doubt she will even know), but I think she'd most likely not mind it. I already dislike both of them. The beginning was fine. It was cute despite the ongoing cliches (which I honestly love), and I was honestly thinking it could become those light novels I read in passing without much thought. The red flags were here and there (he literally downgraded his concubines that did nothing wrong in every sentence he spoke about them. My question is, why ruin someone else's good life if you're going to neglect them anyway), but those I could tolerate until the r*pe part. I tried to read more past that scene, but I just can't stand it. The reviews here also seemed to indicate that the story won't get better, so I say, if you're contemplating whether to read this or not, save the precious time of yours and switch to other novels. That is, unless you took special liking or does not mind this kind of ML. If that's the case, then I think the fluff is fun enough to keep you entertained.
