Different from a typical shoujo-themed otome novel, this story is more of an action-adventure detailing the protagonist's life after she gains the memories of a reincarnated woman who tried to kill her and replace her as the 'heroine' of an otome game by implanting her ego into the protagonist via a magic crystal.Spoiler
She failed and was instead killed by the protagonist, but the protagonist gained part of her memories and realised that she was the 'heroine'. However, instead of accepting her role as the heroine she instead escaped from her orphanage to live a life on her own terms.
[collapse]It's refreshing to read a novel in the otome genre where the MC acts on her own initiative without being reliant on men's help and protection. This heroine doesn't pull her punches and doesn't shirk from killing her enemies when needed. If you like female protagonists with grit and determination then I definitely recommend this one. I haven't read the light novel version so I can't say which version is better though.
