I Am This Murim’s Crazy B*tch Chapter -- Discussion

I side eye every user who thought this was funny. I tried to ignore the racism until I couldn't. It's annoying. The genderbent "male" MC is just an excuse for the author to write foolishness. Every restaurant "he" goes to, he makes a point to bring up how vain & greedy Chinese are. The line about the prince wanting to die when he saw the little mermaid was a black woman was my bus stop to get off this grinding read. I say grinding because while the synopsis made me desire to read, I kept finding things to do every 2-3 chapters. This only happens when I find a read grinding. I am sure someone will refute my claim by saying I'm being sensitive and I don't know how to haha to cultural jokes. But cultural jokes are best made about your own and not someone else's. MC also felt more Edgelord than crazy. It's not the cool ignorance you can laugh about either, but the type of that falls flat and looks s*upid. There were times he would jumble his words to say incoherent slang or just go one cursing rants. It's like the author put all their heart and soul into writing the most vulgar curse words they could think of. I tried to make myself read further, but when I thought of all the female, Chinese writers this story idea would have took flight with, I felt I couldn't go on. Especially at the pace it's already taking me to finish this (approx. 2 mos.) 2 mos=6 long for me. I wrote this review bc I feel a lot of readers would be drawn to this novel and have their expectations high.
