it's a pretty decent novel for a flash marriage trope. While the MC has always had the ML in her heart as a form of unrequited love, a very humble love... touching really-the ML slowly falls for her charms. What I appreciated was that although the ML had this flash marriage he never planned on making it a fake marriage... however halfway thru the story it does get a bit exciting to see his first love come back in... man I can just imagine how messy things would be if he didn't already fall for her... As far as communication goes, the ML has always been there to talk things out. The reactions of characters and their flaws seem a lot more real than most characters out there in novels.the MC is a shy and timid woman who used up all her bravery to boldly love this one man.the ML is a man who had his first love break his heart and abandon him while learning to love his wife to the end.its not as smooth a story I thought it would be but its worth a read.edit 14/4/23 :reading this for the 2nd time and tbh the whole conflict between MC, ML and ex really pissed me off (especially now that im feeling super sensitive). Like why did he have to escape like a coward constantly and behave so off with MC the time he showed up home after long... like he was even making the MC feel like he was stuck due to obligations... gosh I honestly wish she could have ended up with second ML (the ml's best friend). Bro he even admitted that had he had loved ex even when he decided to get married to mc??? Like its not as bad as im making it out to be but Idk this time I couldnt get myself to complete this. NOT just cuz of ML but the MC's mom too... like whyyy???? I found her so frustrating and the fact that the father though took her side didnt make more of an effort to point out how hurtful her actions and words are. I think what this novel needed was for the MC to have some solo character growth-like not being attached to anyone. I wish during that period ML was being a coward and escaping she had some time to think for herself, also after that meeting with ex and then later the confrontation with ml...i just wish the author would have given her character growth in that she would understand her worth and not just want to leave ML solely for the sake of 'wanting him to be happy' but, also because she wouldn't want to just be with a man who would not understand her worth and would escape instead of communicating or would constantly make her feel insecure (of course they did communicate after and he did make things clear to her)... idk man its an okay read. It's basically what an alternate scenario of a story between a man and his ex lover -who left him due to an illness but is back now-would be, and ideally in this story MC would have been the stumbling block and 'evil' wife who'd try to rip them apart be... XD anyway, you might really like it or feel repulsed depending on your mood. So yeas it does have a bit of a rocky road and a bump or two but trust me it's not horrible at all! It's a decent plot, just don't expect sunshine and butterflies or fluffiness overload. It's just some basic romance.
