The Creation Alchemist Enjoys Freedom -If I Am Exiled From My Hometown, I Can Make Magic Items With Transcendent Effects at the Knees of the Demon Lord- Chapter 98 Discussion

Some people love this, some people hate it and I fall into the second camp. The MC is being portrayed as a genius alchemist who can create miracle products because he believes the advertisements in the Japanese catalogue are literal and serious. So he uses his godlike creation power to imbue items with characteristics and phenomenon that he doesn't even have a clear understanding of. All he needs is his imagination and willpower to solve those problems, and the item he makes will do it.

In some instances it can be a fun moment where he surprised the demon kingdom, but it loses its charm fairly fast. That's all the story is in a way, just moments of "I created this completely impossible magic item that solves whatever the most recent problem is" over and over again. The melodrama of his family and home empire are also never taken seriously and his personal connections may expand but they're surface level interactions with most of the characters.

It's like the author found a formula that let him do whatever the f*ck he wanted, and the bonus was he didn't even need to come up with a magical or fake description of how it works. He can just say, "the MC believes it will work so it does". The author found a way to be dumb and still make his character work, but it's so boring to read. There's no technical application of magic or description of how difficult it was to make an item. It's just deus ex machina for every item.
