Actual score 2.5.This story is, fortunately, written as a light and unserious story. If you ever treat it seriously, you'll immediately be fed up with it and stop reading and hate on it. So if you want to give it a try, keep this in mind.So like I said, it's a light story with a strong comedic undertone. The comedy isn't anything special, but it's good enough to pass some time before you get bored. This story has a few original elements: while it's a typical yuusha-maou isekai, it's written from the perspective of the world's natives long after the heroes have won and gone. This is the first good point. The second good point is these guys misunderstanding items related to the heroes' original world (likely Earth or very similar) and misinterpreting mundane goods as godly items. Now, the comedic part of this misunderstanding is weak, but I like how the MC crafts items based on this. It actually leads to some interesting crafts, so if you're into crafting novels, this novel may be for you.The plot is so-so. Like I said, it's a light story, so while we have properly planned events going on, it's all light-hearted and superficial, as in various plots and schemes are on the level of a sneaky middle schooler who thinks he's smart and mature. The behavior of many characters when they're caught in red-handed or in an otherwise disadvantageous situation is ridiculously pathetic. The MC is not bad for a Jap protagonist. He has balls. Then again, he's also a typical dense protagonist who is clueless about love interests' feelings (which could be fine if the author wasn't blatantly setting up a harem and if all love interests weren't so clumsy in their interactions with the MC... It's basically primary school students' romance lol). He's also not quite realistic because there's a missing depth of being affected by his past. I mean, he doesn't think and behave like someone with his backstory. The love interests are clumsy primary schoolers in their relations with MC, as I already said, and I just want to tell them "just date already" every few chapters as it gets progressively frustrating to read. Regarding their personalities, I don't really have anything to criticize, but I also have nothing to admire.OMG, the Jap interactions though. Apologizing every second sentence for nothing, groveling, and other BS. It's really concentrated in this novel, and is particularly unfitting for a harem protagonist, but he does it anyway. One of the reasons this novel is really frustrating to read sometimes. At least we have important male characters other than the protagonist, both among allies and enemies (or those as of yet neutral). Those harem stories with MC being the only relevant male character are really lame.Overall, I only recommend you read this if you:
- like or currently are looking for something with a light, comedic tone
- like stories about crafting
- don't mind the harem, not that they're doing anything (but this novel does have a polygamy tag, so it's sooner or later... though I glanced at chapter titles until 80 or so, and none suggest any developments)
