After finding out the professor plans to sell her to the pe*verted prince for research funds, which went against her promise of not selling her as long as she works properly, she works with the professor's friend who recognized her talent to get enrolled in the acsdemt to get status immunity (freedom).
[collapse]As someone who knows little to no advanced math/science, when formula info and discussions pop it is mostly filler for me with no way to check if it's right or understand the related concepts, so for a vast majority of readers it will just be "oh that's cool" + filler on these sections. But the science in this novel was actually pretty cool and interesting, usually with these novels it is complete utter garbage.Luckily there is no romance, well true romance in the novel. Other than an annoying pe*verted prince character, there is no romance in the story at all, so you won't be bogged down by this. The MC in original world Earth was also male, but honestly to me this just seems to be an excuse to have no romance and have a harem of female characters without it being a harem. As a majority of the important characters MC has constant engagement with are female. Some of the characters in this novel have depth. Very interesting characters with some development, while others like the prince and her former professor master are pretty flat, predictable, and 2d. As close minded characters with little to no development scene at all. SpoilerThe professor after losing her s*ave and realizing her importance... still pursues her as a s*ave tied to her and trying to coax her with payment (carrot) after the stick strategy failed. Though she is getting "open minded" the author is setting her as a very stubborn character due to thr noble status so there wasnt actually the development of such. The prince rightfully deserves to bring down the rating a full star just for existing and filling up the story content. We do find he is brainwashed but even with people finding out the characters have minimal reactions other than basically: "Oh I guess the empire is screwed".
[collapse].There are many parts which drawer me into the novel. The interesting world setting, the protagonist, the unique mana mechanics. Especially with the mana grass which you smoke for more mana, which is also required for the MC who has no natural mana as a golden eyed species.Yet there are many other parts which get less descriptions and explanations. There is also very soft plot armor of progression to prevent characters from going towards a smarter pathway, but to instead usually insist on status quo. There is also sudden genre shifts such as the novel suddenly becoming part science fiction, then also part Spoilergame reincarnation sub genre. (A character who played a dating (?) game got reincarnated into the world
