I thought I would like this but I really don't. I think I actually like the two main characters, especially the ml. And I don't think it's unreasonable that they never talked about the engagement like another reviewer. This was set in an environment where marriage was mostly discussed between parents and matchmaker, and the actual person might not be in direct communication. That's just the way it was. Though I guess a person should trust their judgement and rumor more. I feel like the author has to force the plot to make the otherwise arrogant and confident MC feel like he misread the love interest.What I really couldn't stand was how the relationship worked out after the MC pretty much already could guess what happened. He knows he was tricked, but still won't try to reconcile despite him actually liking the ml. The only conceivable reason seems to be that the author needs to make the story longer. It makes no sense and I don't buy it and I don't want to read it.
