Jianghu Demolition Squad Chapter 76 Discussion

A really enjoyable read!

For those who are curious but want a detailed synopsis that isn't TOO spoiler-ish, here you go:

Spoiler

This novel follows Yu'er, a fourteen year old girl who, during the weakest moments of her life, is saved by Qing Jiu (FL).

Yu'er then desperately and very resolutely attempts to stay by Qing Jiu's side. Cue Yu'er yearning for or admiring QJ at least a little bit every few chapters.

It is found that Yu'er has a good aptitude and she, under the guidance of her group of friends, improves her skills and learns to stand her own ground. The characters in her group all have their own proper personalities, perspectives, grievances, strengths, and shortcomings. They all also have their own little dynamics with one another too!

The group explore and travel the martial arts world to complete various tasks. Through them we learn details of the various backstories, relationships, and personalities of the main cast. The world is vibrant and filled with various locations, groups, treasures, and interesting personalities. Because of Yu'er's quite sheltered past and young age, we learn about this world along with her.

I swear this novel puts you on a rollercoaster ride with all the eventful fights, hearty banter, situations, and the intense and at times potentially heartbreaking moments. With the revelation of new information and yearning sprinkled in all along the ride. The group itself is quite powerful, and the MC herself does improve at a questionably fast rate however tension and challenge isn't lost.

In terms of the dynamic between the MC and FL, Yu'er is a stubborn and adorable girl with a kind heart who you can't help but spoil and support. Qing Jiu is a powerful, mischievous, and teasing figure who is also quite mysterious - you can't always tell what she's thinking and even the characters don't know much of her background. At times you do feel quite bad for Yu'er due to her intense emotions towards QJ but it is understandable considering the context.

The author does a good job of roping your attention and keeping it. It isn't entirely unique or earth-shattering but executes its plot well. The pacing is also quite good between arcs, there weren't many points where I grew bored.

In regard to translation, my experience reading has been both smooth-sailing and enjoyable! There are no stand out moments where I've gotten annoyed or distracted from the translation quality. The other stories translated by DragonTL are quite good as well. Definite recommend.
