An excellent survival and resource management novel! I recommend giving it a read if you like this type of genre! My favorite thing about this novel has to be the MC. While she does have a golden finger (lucky dice roll), she is extremely level-headed and not overly generous, never trading at a loss, and overall a very likable character. She's also very realistic, understanding that this is a game of survival of the fittest, and unwilling to be bullied or taken advantage of.I haven't read a lot of doomsday novels so I can't say how the setting compares to others but I find it enjoyable and not too complex. The title and summary are a bit misleading as the setting is more similar to the Raft video game, and the MC does not start (or ever live) on an island. Players are spawned on a raft with a fishing pole for gathering loot boxes, with the task to upgrade their raft/ship and survive. There's also resource islands, changing seasons, and district competitions which makes the plot interesting and never stale!
