The Quest for Immortality Chapter 800 Discussion

You can tell when the author hasn't come up with anything to write because the story has cycles of pure filler and then actual good plot.

I want to like the novel but it has little to do with cultivation and is written like a detective novel. A crime happens and then the MC investigates, talks to people and tries to figure out what happened for dozens of chapters. Then he finds the culprit but it turns out to be a part of a bigger crime. Repeat a couple times and then the arc ends when the MC find the criminal's lair and a big fight happens. I'm not even joking, that's how most arcs end.

There is so much talking and so little cultivation that it took 500+ chapters for the MC to reach the foundation building stage. Even if the MC is untalented that is ridiculously slow. I wouldn't be surprised if the novel reaches 3k+ chapters.
