This should've been titled "Dumpster Diving Slime Tamer", since that encapsulates what the story is about, without sounding like a generic Light Novel title. Unsure why but I was curious enough to see where this story went, after not really enjoying the rather laid-back Isekai anime adaptation that struggled with its serious plot thread. May have been because of Ivy. A lovable little girl, who can be pretty dense about the darnedest thing. Yet is smarter than any adult, when she needs to be. Could have been the weird setting, where Dumpster Diving Slime Tamers seems to be an absolute necessity for waste disposal. Although it makes the world feel like it is built purely for Ivy's benefit, as the world building is a bit of a mess.In the end, I can't say that I enjoyed it more or less than the anime, since Ivy's Japanese aversion to garnering attention, greatly hampers the story's potential. It honestly has been a while since I've read a story with so little content, due to the MC not having a goal. Meaning not much happens after 6 volumes, leaving little reason to continue, besides maybe some interesting future revelations by the time she reaches the capital.
