I managed to make it to chapter 120 before deciding to drop this novel.

The novel gives me slice of life vibes without really being slide if life. I think it's the narration style, it just doesn't really gel with me.

It comes across as having the typical transmigration, fate changing plot, but that takes a backseat. It feels like this novel has a lot of different plots and it's just too much for one novel.

It focuses on the mc's career more than anything. The romance is definitely slow, and I would also say lacking. I couldn't feel any chemistry between the MC and ml, even at chapter 120!

There are a lot of characters in this novel but none of them really feel fleshed out. To be honest, that's the story as a whole. A bit of a mash up of lots of storylines that could have been great if they had more substance.

A lot of detail went into the wrong things (but that's just my opinion). For example - there are scenes where it cuts to random side characters - some which exist only for this section - and there's a detailed chapter describing the movie, which really didn't add anything to the story. There's even some very detailed gaming sections!

I also found the timeliness confusing. By chapter 120, 3 years had passed but I felt like not a lot had happened and I don't even know where the first year went!

If the plot had delved more into the typical transmigration, face slapping, reversal line, I would have found it more engaging. Even with the focus on directing, if the relationships and side characters were fleshed out and focused a bit more, this story could have been great.

I wouldn't recommend this novel, but you may be interested in it if you enjoy a slow paced novel that doesn't focus on romance, or if you want something senseless to read.
