The translation quality is... readable but questionable. As such, it's not clear if the issues I have with the story are because of the original writing or because of the translation quality. I'm also not even halfway through what has been translated. Giving it the benefit of the doubt, a solid 4/5.Various things are narrated or weirdly described - this is one of those things where I'm not clear if the fault is in the translation or not. For instance, the descriptions of the MC's powers, his training, and the exposition about warlock abilities up to the point I've read is kind of a drag. It could sound fine in Korean and just be weird in English and need to be reworded a bit, or it could be equally boring. For instance, the descriptions of his magic as "darkness" and being able to manipulate "the darkness" and generally just using the word "darkness" weirdly is just one example of weird wordage in this translation. Using "Shadow" or "Dark magic that can manipulate shadows" or something to the effect would be better in English, but maybe it's supposed to be a more vaguely-defined kind of ability? Also I don't like Ratta because I think it's annoying, but that's just a personal preference.Besides that, pretty good. I like the main character a lot. Not too overpowered, not too s*upid - just the right balance in an MC. Very much the underdog in an unfair situation just trying his best. If you like the genre, you'll probably enjoy this.
