I would give this a lower score but I feel that would be unfair. Still, this author deserves a few bad reviews for this bait-and-switch. The first few chapters are a lower-quality version of "The World of Otome Games is Tough for Mobs" and that is what I was expecting. What I wasn't expecting was a switch to some sort of story of an otaku using magic to replicate modern weaponry in a fantasy universe. There is nothing wrong with that type of story but that's not what I'm here for. I'll give this a 3 for the quality but if you're here for what the title and summary describe then this is a 2.Edit after reading to c44: Well it finally got into the proper story but the quality is pretty low. Just a lot of descriptions of how incredible the MC is and all the side characters being incompetent. I am also very unhappy with the combat. The MC is supposedly well-trained with a sword but he never uses it and instead uses a gun. That could still be cool but the author just treats it like a point-and-click tool. The MC just effortlessly moves, points the gun at an enemy, and then that enemy is defeated. I get that that is how guns are supposed to work but you could also say that beating an enemy with a sword is just a matter of swinging your arm. It's the author's job to make the combat interesting and he fails at it. The big duel was just awful. At this point I would say don't bother with this and read "The World of Otome Games is Tough for Mobs". I am also changing my score to a 2.
