If you came into this story expecting a typical dungeon diving story with a logical, smart MC, then this story isn't for you. Most of the content revolves around the revenge, with barely any combat scenes or explanation regarding the combat abilities of the MC and his crew. You can probably tell from the other reviews, but the MC is a completely spineless coward that would flounder completely if left on his own. It fits his character yes, but it can still be aggravating to read. I also find it strange how basically every character gravitates towards the MC despite this cowardly disposition.

The plot of the novel basically consists of the MC being dragged around by every other character, while he makes 0 meaningful input. In fact, the MC pretty much has no idea what is going on in 90% of situations. What made me drop the novel was the short few chapters written from the ML's point of view, where I realised I was actually engaged with the novel for the first time since I started it. The ML is basically the foil to the MC, with a polar opposite personality. Essentially, he thinks like the average KR protagonist, which is probably why I liked his arc. At the very least, I was glad that he actually bothered getting a grasp of his situation unlike the MC. If you're like me and prefer this type of protagonist, then this novel is not for you.

I'm sure this is a decent novel that just hit the wrong demographic in me though, considering the raving reviews across the board.
