The plot is good, the premise is novel in that the female lead actually tries to leave the abusive people who made her give up like she says (this never happens in these novels). There is no redemption arc for the characters that are like tar at the bottom of a cast iron pan that instantly flips the relationships.Biggest problem for me is how the characters are inconsistent. The side characters are abusive, and then they are impassive (fine they might be pretending) or "romantic". This extends to the female lead too, she flips like a coin at a dollar store.
