It’s a very well written story, although the ending is a bit rushed.

The scheming and plotting in particular are extremely well done, and all the several layers of manipulation are quite amazing to navigate. The fact the story ties basically all its loose ends too, even going as far as introducing the main villains quite early in the plot without spoonfeeding, is quite nice.

(One could even majorly deduce the plot by chapter 30~40 if they’re so inclined, although with not as many details as later on, but it’s not exactly in your face. There’s place for plots and twists, but also the satisfaction of looking back and knowing how things came to be. The plot isn’t just thrown in the air in later chapters).

The romance is also very nice, and with quite a well developed natural conclusion. It feels quite realistic for the characters’ personalities, and even if there’s plot events that push them even closer together, it’s also not something that’s just there to be there. It’s very well developed in this matter, there’s no random forcing that doesn’t fit the overall plot.

Overall, it’s a very nice story, even if I got more hooked by the plot and characters’ (specially YR, TC and QX’s) charming personalities than the romance, that can be relatively slow to properly develop.

So, I guess, don’t read if you don’t like good plots? Lol.

Also, about the villains, I was a tad disappointed with some of them’s characterizations, in terms of, I wish I could see more of how depraved these guys are. One of them (the First Big One, so to speak), has a tad more strokes, and I was quite pleased with what I read in terms of his twistedness, so I’m quite bummed that there isn’t more of that, even though the characterizations aren’t exactly lacking per se. They’re not flat, but their development and construction isn’t much seeable either, so it’s kinda something I’d like Author had explored more.

TL;DR: quite a good sci-fi novel. Plot > romance, both well developed. Would watch an anime out of this.
