Like others I found this novel due to the new manga adaptation and I think it's amazing. The developing relationship between the two characters rides a fine line between having regular significant growth and being too much of a slow burn, and the result is a relationship that has a depth of emotion that other novels rarely get. While I wholeheartedly recommend this novel, there are definitely a few things that aspiring readers should know:
- These two characters are not mentally healthy people and clearly have issues. Their relationship in no way is normal or entirely healthy (at the stage I'm at at least) and they will occasionally do things that make you go WTF.
- This is still a super slow burn and is basically emotional edging (but not to enough of an extent where it becomes overly frustrating or grating)
- If you want to read it you will eventually need to put up with a not-very-edited MTL, which while certainly readable, does make enough small errors to become a little grating. While the Amawashi translation is amazing, unfortunately at it's current upload rate it will be literal years before it catches up to the Seedling chapters, so I'd recommend reading what chapters Amawashi has out first and then switching to Seedling. If you're like me and are invested enough in the story and the two characters to want to keep going even at a reduced chapter quality, the Seedling chapters are certainly good enough and by no means unbearable.
