I'm surprised that I couldn't get as invested in this book, despite it being one of my favorite tropes. I feel like maybe it was the style of separating the flashbacks from present day. It could also have been that I didn't feel much of a connection to the ML in the story. If I look it overall, it's a pretty solid story, but maybe I should have taken the author's advice and read all the flashback chapters together and then the present day ones. This short story was beautifully written. We don't get a whole lot of ML's perspective, but what we do get sometimes touches your heart.Spoiler
I didn't get this until later, but apparently, they had not resolved their past issues in the present day. They were married, and living together and spent time together, but did not communicate about the past. MC's amnesia allowed them to address everything, but some things he learned from other sources, which made me sad for the pre-amnesiac them.
[collapse]Just a note for readers who might not like flashbacks - the author and translater has marked each flashback chapter with a back arrow (<-) and present day chapters with a forward arrow (->). These are marked up where the chapter number is noted at the top of the page. (Also, if you are reading the translator site, chapter 17 jumps to chapter 25, meaning the chapters are not in order but 18-24 are translated, so maybe check the TOC).
