I really hope someone picks this back up, as I love it so much! The writing is so interesting and the story is so unique and exciting. Scifi is not normally my thing. The action that goes on is the perfect glue to tie the plot together. I think people are forgetting this is an apocalyptic, dystopian story with very traumatized characters. What we perceive as normal in a relationship cannot be applied to these two. I am only on c. 60 something as that is as far the current translation goes, so I do not know if the story devolves past this point. Also, people aren't perfect! Your average couple are going to have what we deem as 'silly' problems. My only real criticism is that I really want to do away with the fatherly to romantic relationships. We can do better than that. In this case, I don't believe there is any gro*ming, but it is still a plot device that seems so unnecessary and potentially harmful. That being said, my favorite Danmei of all time is Sha Po Lang, which has the same father figure to romantic interest plot. It can be done well but it is still overused.Lastly, don't put too much stake into what other review. Opinions are just opinions, and that doesn't mean you shouldn't give stories a try. A lot of the writings are phenomenal.
