I’m the Mysterious Leader of the Salvation Organization Chapter 273 Discussion

It's a good story, although with some shortcomings.

It's about Bai Yan who's in another world, he has a game in his phone that's all about collecting Spoiler

people/skins/buildings

[collapse]... etc.

In short, it's a game that has the concept of collecting characters and give them powers while also building a base and increasing its performance, with the ultimate goal of fighting and solving of numerous worlds ending crises.

The story is the game coming to life, everything in it reflects on reality.

The mysteries are interesting, Spoiler

why the game is real? what's the purpose of it? is he being controlled? why fight evil and all that?

[collapse] etc... all these questions won't be answered any time soon, since they're the core of the story.

However, there also mysteries in the emergency missions and the world ending crises that happens, so it's interesting.

This story is heavily inspired by "Lord Of The Mysteries".

It also has inspirations from sandbox novels and also controlling the fate of others through phone. There are a lot of stories like that.

However, while it's inspired by all those, this story still has its own uniqueness and flavor.

If you liked the concept and various elements of LOTM then you'll like this story.

Spoiler

There are few core members, they meet in a special space periodically, MC is like a mysterious god figure, MC has alter persona to direct everyone without ruining the dignity of his god persona... etc.

[collapse]

The world is interesting, and the power system and the core concepts are well thought out.

However, it's not as robust and explored as I'd like it to be. It just feels like the author made the countries and gave each a unique concept and even power, but the author didn't dive deeper into it.

It's mainly because of the pacing. At the start everything is properly explored but then once we go to the bigger world, author neglected that side and just didn't focus on it as much even though some members are there.

At some point the author completely didn't mention the characters that aren't in the same city as MC, those characters were forgotten, till later author tries to catch up, and just says big things happened.

It gets boring.

You're not as invested in the story.

Don't even compare this story to LOTM. This story just has many inspirations from it, not the writing nor the immersion.

The story just gets repetitive with the same things happening.

Here's how it goes at some point:

MC gets mission > Plays game > finds strategy > actually does the mission > wins mission > Rewards participating characters.

The difference is where the mission happens and how difficult it is.

You as a reader just get bored, even if you want to know the answers to some questions.

To make it worse, since it's heavily inspired by LOTM, you could predict the answers to some mysteries.

You could even guess what will happen later, which is never a good sign for a mystery novel.

If you really love how things went down in LOTM, and the elements found in that story, then you can read this story.

Just don't expect the same level of immersion, quality or awesomeness as LOTM.
