There are many "transmigrated into a villain" novels out there. They still can be interesting to read if executed correctly by author that had a good idea and skills to back it up. Sadly this is not one of them. First I have to say translators aren't at fault for low score in this one. It would be unfair to make them responsible. Translations were alright. So then why I think this novel is bad after reading to 76 chapters?

Premise: Villain reverses his destiny against protagonist with "halo o main character".

Execution: Villain with halo of main character is basically a protagonist on super easy mode.

Wasn't it a point of the story? I was expecting some struggle, fight with fate, great schemes and grave consequences. But it quickly became simple wish fulfillment self insertion with poor execution and boring plot. What's the point in creating a villain story when main character plays on easy mode with cheat codes. Instead of applying cheats to balance the odds in this novel our villain is like Mike Tyson fighting kindergartners 2v1 (2 as he and referee are on the same side). Is it interesting? No, not really.

Another problem is romance. It's chinese urban novel so there is romance and there is of course harem. Why authors force harem into their novels? I don't know. But somehow on average novels with harem are worse than ones without. Maybe that's a part of that wish fulfillment/self insertion. If it sells then that matters but for me it degrades the romance aspect a lot. Worse still it seems author's only contact in his life with female was his mother. Does people act as depicted? Hardly. Female characters are two dimensional to the core and all off them are depicted nearly the same. If you asked middle schooler in china what he finds attractive in women he will tell you the same lines used to depict attractive females in this novel. Maybe author is too naive but I expect realistic relations and not puberty-driven fantasies.

Last point is inconsequential "wealthy image". Spoiler

He wears "limited edition philippe patek", cool. But all time one wristwatch? No matter the attire? And how the hell people on the street notice it right away like it's some new iphone everyone is familiar with? To the 76 chapter he also seems to wear suit to a lot of less formal outings. On date too? Come on. He drives RR phantom but doesn't seem to have a driver. When going shopping with one of the girls he goes to store to buy her a dress - one is worth 100k (I guess rmb) but it's ready made?

[collapse]It's super inconsequential. If he wants to flaunt wealth at least make it realistic. Such minor details are important too.

Overall not recommended. Go and read better novel with villain theme or give it a try if you don't mind inferior execution of popular genre.
