I like this WN, as simple as it is, but the King of Cooking arc is awful. Uninteresting filler. Overall, the character development is lackluster and it bothers me how Spoiler
the author doesn't talk about how weird it is for a sword to have a human doppelganger, or at least have Fran react to it in any way; unless it was so underdeveloped that I skimmed over it. The first mention of Shishou using it is done off-screen in secret, but more as a surprise for Fran than something he wanted to actually hide.
[collapse]So much focus being put on cooking and Fran's appetite was such a monumental mistake for the story. I'm only reading on in hopes that it gets better. Comet Translation's machine-filtered garbage from Ch. 67-72 almost made me drop this from how bad it was. Good luck.
