Second Marriage in the 1970s Chapter 35 Discussion

Interesting premise, poor execution.

I usually don't have problems with slow-paced slice of life novels with little to no conflict. But this one became a bit boring as I read further.

My issues:

  • Mainly the poor translation. It's straight out of an MTL. It gets worse chapter each chapter. Sometimes, even quotation marks to indicate dialogues are not included.
  • The story has wasted potential. It almost always looks at the surface level of things. Everyone seems like they're one-dimensional cannon fodder.
  • I don't find the MC interesting. Her being a "transmigrator" is just a cheap trick to explain some abilities that she have. She doesn't seem to have inner struggles adjusting in the 70s and although she has to accept it immediately, it's not supposed to be accepted after a few paragraphs.
  • The ML was fine at first. But at this point, I think he's just another guy who "wants to protect the little lotus". The execution is not great. It made him look like a cheap guy who decided to treat his wife better just because she's a virg*n.
  • The interaction between the ML & MC is very bland. I don't see any chemistry except for the fact that people view them as some sort of perfect people in the village.
This novel has wasted it's potential. There should me more to the novel but it can't keep me interested to wait for things to happen.
