I really don't like Luka right now. This is a spoiler, but I'll reveal outside of it that if you don't like dub-con and non-con, as well as gaslighting, you will probably have a beef with him, too.

Spoiler

I never like dubious consent in the first place, and he already had a mark against him during his first romantic encounter with our MC (there's the typical eroge excuses for him to get away with it, but it was totally non-con, no ifs, ands, or buts). The MC agrees to be with him for reasons I'll never understand, but Chapters 16-17 really made me want him to dump him. Not only did he do something the MC he claims to love clearly felt uncomfortable with, but he did so to bully him into telling him something that wasn't even his business. He even gaslighted the MC into believing he was the one at fault, apologizing with genuine tears running down his face. This most certainly wasn't an act of love, so I can't help but disdain the ML.

[collapse]

Since I can't really ship the main couple anymore, I found that I've just been skimming since that scene, missing likely crucial information for the plot. However, this incident is what most people refer to when they dislike the story, so maybe it'll be better from this point. I'll not rate it right now, since I'm mad, and forget the story exists for a bit. I'll come back later, once I forget what Luka did, and pick up where I left off.

My advice? Skip chapters 16 and 17. They're smutty ones who send you to a different website, so it's easy to do. All you need to know is, the MC told Luka what he'd been trying to solve himself. Without knowing anything else, you can enjoy them figuring out solutions together and have the innocent misunderstanding that Luka may deserve the MC.

I definitely recommend this book. All the twists and turns keep you on edge. Let's not even mention all the naughty bits. Loved it and looking forward to the next one.
