Sweet Life Chapter 3.2 Discussion

sight, what a terrible thing - I got hooked but the « sweet » title, and felt ok for an easy read, — BUT this is so not it!

So far nothing is sweet : the MC goes through extensive and extreme ab*se in very few chapters

He lives in an extremely tyrannical universe, where the female (omega) are just used as tool for reproduction, with no social rights - it’s somewhat akin to the very sad way women are still treated in many country, and were treated accross time (worthless if can’t bear a (male !) child)

-> but in fact it’s worse, because of the rarity of omega they are shared and expected to breed for several people - without being the companion of any of them !

it could be reversed harem with lots of care and love - but the author chose to make it ugly, evil forced surrogacy without an ounce of respect, love or morality

Back to our main character, contrary to his very interesting - but now broken- sister, he’s been beaten into submission for so long that a ghost has more personality - you could think here lucky to be an aristocrat, but his rare gender is hidden, as his family seek to sell his body against favors/profits/power, hence they made sure he would never stray or struggle, by humiliating and hurting him constantly !

it’s plain disgusting - I don’t really understand this choices, except, then again, to express women situations in way too many places in the world (?)

-> but then again even it’s worse !! - as breeding doesn’t mean systematic humiliation for women, it seems it does for omega : they are treated like meat toilet, inferior to animals - the dominant can’t do without them, but strangely seem to hate them with a passion as much as they use them in very obsessive and wicked

story wise - there should be a plot, as the prince apparently has many rivals hungry for his throne, the sister « accident « is definitely not one either - and hopefully that way give some room to let the MC grow a bit (badly needed)

- we should guess the prince is the most probable ML, in that ambiguous universe, he’s not as bad as many - he seemed less prejudiced against casts and gender... but well sweet sister hushed the MC never to trust him - seing the title, let’s hope she’s wrong and he’s the sweet part of this very bad universe

so what is left ?

- The miserable sister is probably on her dying breath, what a pain, she was obviously a very interesting character, she became fodder before c1 :/ - it’s so pitiful : does it call for justice/revenge ?

- then you wonder : do we even want to expect a romance in that awful universe ? Because seriously the whole omega thing is way too bad, saving one of them won’t pull the dirt of the curtains - and worse to come : do you want to to add a baby to be born into that hellish setting? A cute little thing born to watch is back for assassins and plot and be plotted by his nearest family members - add : a raise with high risk to become a half r*pist like most alpha around ?

it’s good if you have a short memory (and forget what babies grows up to be) but it strangely doesn’t make me happy

- lastly plot wise, I suppose there’s ample room for a game of chest and that would actually be interesting to read

So let’s admit i’m a bit curious about how it will end : maybe reading two or three chapters from the end will satisfy my curiosity (where’s my sweet, can we save the sister, make a peaceful yet profound revolution ?)

Or maybe because of the plot potential, i’ll give it a chance for a pair more chapters as the MC is finally out of both his torturous shackles (family and heat) - at least for a little while

but I can’t say I enjoyed, not can I recommend this title

i seriously hope the writers put their mind into serious reasons and strong devices to actually express something when then use these extreme paradigms - I hope it’s not just gratuitous violence again - ab*se, neglect & bullying, child ab*se, s€xual ab*se, m¥rders and such - these should not be used too easily to tell a story - nothing could be worse than these becoming so mundane there are not making us revolted any longer

note : if you’re seeking for warm or hot stuff, this is not the best - after three chapters you also can’t escape a pair strange smutty scene. The first being a quasi r*pe, is plain disgusting, the second a very clinical « heat episode « - yes, duh, clinical, it’s an awkward mix of medical and rude terms patched together in an emotionless description, totally deprived of any kind of warmth - or heat !

fine by me, I most often skip those - but boy can people get turned on by reading about tripes, (sorry intestines) ?

lastly the translation can be less than optimal, making some part or dialogues hard to understand
