The plot is inconsistent as hell.

A lot of things that happen just feel like they are added for spice while forgetting the premise of the actual story.

Sure, the story has some nice parts, but it gets ruined if you try to think for half a second about what's going on. The only reactions that make sense seem to be from her children while everyone else is stuck on some kind of script.
