The writing is good, the characters are pretty good, the world building is pretry good but I can't help but feel deceived by the tags. Maybe it's a bit early in the story but I purposefully looked for the romance tag filtered out "dense MC" but of course, yet again, he's a dense AND very self depreciating MC, and somehow that tag isn't there. His friend is great and deserve the praise and it's good he knows he behaved badly as a kid but he's not trying to change anything, he's just there saying he diednt deserve happiness and he'll spend all his life keeping a watch on a his friend from a distance and makes no effort to change how people see him, all the time. "Oh they hate me and are right", "Oh my friend should be the one adored" (they already do), "Oh that girl loves my friend of course he's great I'm gonna make sure they have their space" (she literally followed him and said she was looking for him). I'm not saying he can be like that but I demand you put the "dense MC" tag
