I'm struggling to get into this novel. It might be because I recently read The Witch Nichang, which set the bar way too high for me to enjoy this one. I find it hard to like both the MC & FL. Especially the MC, who is op. Also, is it just me, or does the MC act like an old pe*vert or something? I'm confused because, without any prior buildup, the MC suddenly started referring to the FL as "her little girl" (um ew?). Up to this point, the MC has only been a knight-in-shining-armor or a benefactor to the FL, who is understandably grateful. However, this sudden possessiveness feels out of place. I tried to push through a few more chapters, but it ultimately ruined the experience for me.I may be judging this too early, so I'm not going to rate this yet. I'll just place this on hold for now.Did I mention The Witch Nichang? It's an absolute masterpiece—a must-read! Go check it out!
