So far (c38) the novel is not only solid but also quite enjoyable, just like most of this authors novels. But unlike the others, I find Xian Xian to have a refreshing element: both its plot that is mostly centred around mysteries and its protagonist, Li Chaonge. She’s flawed and certainly someone who has commited a lot of sins that she cant excuse, but shes in no way evil or unlikeable. She deeply regrets the things shes done in her past life and tries to fix them in a way, while still doing her best to accomplish her goals (just in a less bloody way), something that fits her character of an ambitious but newly enlighten person.I dont really have an opinion on the ML yet, and I cant say im enthusiastic to get to know him.
