This is a fun romance fantasy time travel-type story where the protagonist, Frey, goes back in time to save the world. He's a good guy who's forced to play the part of a villain because the game-like System which enhances his powers and gives him a shot at saving the world puts a ton of restrictions on him. A lot of the story consists of tragedy as, due to acting like a villain, everyone in the country hates him, including many of his family members, friends, and love interests. The story lightens up in this aspect as it goes on because over time he gathers allies who one way or another find out about his secret, but with each person who finds out his secret, his lifespan is reduced by the System, leaving him with little time and causing him to become more and more of a glass cannon as the series goes on, becoming more powerful but also much more vulnerable. This keeps the stakes high even as he gets stronger. The plot of the story is quite interesting with the antagonist being a Demon King who is his opposite, playing the part of a hero in public while actually being the one who will end the world. Since both he and the Demon King have to keep their true identities secret, they are constantly in a battle of political maneuvering that keeps Frey on his toes as he slowly gathers the pieces he needs to save the world.A lot of the focus of the story is on the romance. This aspect is a little weaker, and I usually don't enjoy harems, but here the girls involved are likable and well-developed. The harem also doesn't get excessively large, so each girl gets enough time in the spotlight to grow. And Frey goes through enough suffering that he's one of the few protagonists who actually deserves a harem tbh.Overall this story is quite good and has maintained a consistent level of quality so far. The translation is about 3/5 of the way through the main story at this time.
