I’m struggling between rating this novel 4 stars and 1 star. The bulk of the novel (roughly the first 240 chapters) are very good. Nothing groundbreaking, but at least an interesting take on the “possessing tr*sh in the game” subgenre. It follows a good progression both narratively and in terms of character development, for the MC and the side characters. It also explores a decently interesting theme on people being products of their environment.Where everything falls apart is the ending, starting roughly around chapter 241-250. All the loose ends, all the plot threads, everything that had been set up, is just ended with simple sentences. It happens so fast that it’s hard to even understand the progression of events at all. Despite everything being “resolved”, it feels like nothing has truly been resolved. I guess it’s better than nothing that at least they resolved these threads rather than it just ending randomly, but it feels like a significant chunk of the story was just robbed from us.In conclusion, it’s a great story with a terrible ending. Rating it 3 stars because it is an enjoyable ride, but the end might leave you feeling like it was pointless.
