Among the 3 translation sites posting chapters of this novel here on NU, waffles' translations are the best. It's the most comprehensible and the terms that he used made more sense. Plus, most of the terms are in English, which is easier to remember compared to romanized terms. The second most comprehensible is Library Key.What I like about this novel:• Cho Euishin/Jo Uisin (the MC) is clever, strategic and...a sucker for Snare/Olmu, his Playable Characters & his class 0 classmates.• At the beginning of the story, Euishin reminded me of Cale Henituse from TCF. He likes looting, destroying things & smacking the enemy on the back 🤣• Author makes an effort in describing the surroundings which I appreciate cause some authors just say the name of the place and don't even bother describing even a tiny bit of how the place looks like.• Characters are fleshed-out. Although there are a lot of characters, each of them have their own unique personality and quirks that make them memorable in the minds of readers.• This novel finds a good balance between school life and action. Tbh, it took me a long time before I got invested in the story (maybe around 100+ chapters?) It's because there were more school life scenes at the beginning and I'm not really a fan of that genre but I came to love it in this story. Btw, it took almost 800 chapters before Euishin became a 2nd year 😂• Supporting characters are given their time to shine. They are given enough spotlight about their backgrounds, past experiences, inner turmoils/struggles, battles, enlightenment, power growth, etc.• Minor supporting characters occasionally get screentime throughout the story and aren't completely forgotten by the author unlike some novels.• Characters' relationships are slowly marinated throughout the story ❤️ It's so satisfying when some characters who were distrustful at first, eventually trust the others especially whenever they're in a pinch. Particularly, I love Class 1-0's bond and Kim Shinrok & Yong Jegun's friendship.• As Euishin uses his Replay skill on others, I realized how immense his love and dedication is for his playable characters. All his efforts and even the desperation he felt numerous times just to save even one playable character made me tear up. It truly made me realize that PMH wasn't simply a game to Euishin, which explains why he's so adamant in saving all the playable characters, NPCs, and the current world he lives in.• Author is good at building tension.• It's fun forming theories and solving the mysteries in the novel. What I don't like about this novel:• Narration is more on tell than show.• There are quite a lot of info-dumping, especially when talking about a character's past, background, trauma, Eushin's knowledge about events in PMH, myths, etc.• Author introduced a bunch of characters from the get-go which made my eyes spin and my head ache. This is probably because the initial chapters were more focused on the plot & had to present several characters. The characters were gradually fleshed-out throughout the later chapters & I eventually got used to it and remembered their names somehow. Still, introducing a lot of characters in the initial chapters when MC has barely gotten his "character" solidified in a reader's mind is a no for me.• Some battle scenes are somewhat lackluster. Some got described in just a few lines while some got completely brushed over, especially most of the battles when conquering otherworlds. (Well, I guess conquering otherworlds isn't really part of the major battles except for a few.) • Euishin's self-sacrificial mindset. He worries more about his playable characters & friends more than himself, which I understand... but to the point that he doesn't even care about his body/health when he's bleeding to death?? Sorry, but that's dumb. He has a bunch of strong allies (stronger than him even) that he could ask help from yet he almost always deals with everything on his own because he's worried that they will get hurt or be in danger. Then what about his allies that get worried about him over and over whenever he gets hurt??! Ugh, so frustrating. Spoiler
Also, the part when Euishin entered the underworld without telling anyone beforehand and then sending a scheduled message informing the Tigers and his friends that he may not be able to return and then ending the message with a "Merry Christmas" like... that is so fvcking out of line. It frustrated me so much that I almost wanted to drop the novel. If I could enter the novel, I would've punched him in the face to knock some sense into him. Ok Toyeon's right. Jo Euishin thinks of his life as disposable.
