Glad that I found this novel! Translation is great and the story itself is good. Story about MC trying to gain money is realistic and it do have some conflicting family relationship that reader can ponder about. Spoiler
I dont necessarily hate the foster parents character. The daughter-in-law was definitely mistreated, and with the ongoing suspicion about the money inheritance, I can understand her hatred towards our Baiyu. Still, probably an as*hole move to neglect a literal child, but extreme poverty can do that I guess.
