Liang Rong is a 30 year old actor who recently got back into acting after being away for three years due brain damage. Song Ning, a psychiatrist, helped cure LR.
When LR was 16, he and his mother got into a car accident. Hi mother died and LR developed a split personality. LR was able to lock away the other personality (who was his 16 year old self, LR-16) with the help of SN's mentor. However, LR-16 escaped and took over the body after the second car accident. SN was hired to help "kill" LR-16.

In the course of treatment, LR-16 fell in love with SN. In turn, SN did also love LR-16, which was tragic since SN's job was to help cure LR by removing LR-16. The novel starts where LR-16 has already disappeared. LR does not know about LR-16 and SN's love. However, LR becomes attracted to SN and starts to pursue him. He then finds a diary that LR-16 wrote which revealed everything. LR confirms the truth with SN and also confesses his love for SN. SN accepts LR's love.
