Super Card System Chapter Completed Discussion

I hate people talking bad about fics without even finishing 50% or completing it but honestly for this fic I wish I stopped earlier and wrote this review then.

So to start a lot of people comment on this fic being "original" and the author being good at weaving his story into the one piece story. To those claims I say BS, the scenes, plot points and various other character personalities and character arcs are basically cardboard cut-outs of the straw hat crew with different names and abilities.

Biggest one is the MC who is basically an edgier version of Luffy, but one that barely put in effort for his own powers. Yes, we have a slow start but after he began sailing he basically got powerups ever other chapter because of the system using money instead of some hard to come by resource or original currency. So story arcs are basically, "MC is losing but finds mountains of cash, uses it to whale and gets OP- MC wins".

If that was not bad enough the arcs were all basically rephrased versions of Luffy's own journey, yes, a lot of the stories occurred in different islands, yes, the characters are somewhat different, but if you are a one piece fan you'd get the weird feeling that the feels so like one piece then you recall a scene from the actual one piece anime then it hits, "Author basically redid Luffy's story but with different characters and a different setting". Of course since the MC has a different personality things go a little bit differently but the emotional scenes and many of the "original" story arcs of the fic become predictable and boring since you could already see what is going to happen since it has a parallel from one piece, its like reading the Dressrosa Arc and superimposing it with the Alabasta Arc but this time it does not have Oda's creativity and ingenuity to make the arc its own thing. But the worst is when the author uses Oda's humor not by understanding Oda's formula but by copy and pasting said formula and reenacting comedic scenes with different characters.

This problem gets even more obvious when the story reaches the later arcs fighting against the yonko and world government which has parallels to both Luffy's battles and you could only see just how bad the author is at creating his own story when you read his original final battle. After all One Piece has yet to have an ending so the author is basically forced to make up his own at that point.

But that is not the only problems this fic has, a lot of opportunity was lost simply because the author probably got too lazy to keep track of all the systems capabilities and the abilities the MC got from the system. There were a lot of things he could have done but they were all tr*shed probably due to laziness as the story gets worse the farther along you get.

But the worse thing I got from this fic is that despite all its problems, the way it was written was quite good. Yes, the writing was obviously done by a seasoned writer, the flaws were all on the fact that it was not original and plot holes continued to increase in number as the story progressed.

Simply put the biggest sin of this fic was that unlike a standard fic with bad writing and self-insert type storytelling. This fic was done more to earn money from fans than a true fanfic, it lacks the true love of the series we could see from other fan fics. This is made evident when you see how characters are treated, female characters which many probably love are treated with more care than male characters who few care about.

Honestly, I had high hopes for this as the author was the same one who wrote custom made demon king but I honestly think he should stick with Terror Infinity like stories as he did good, in fact a lot better when writing about an MC invading a certain fictional world and messing it up than he did writing about an isekai into a fictional world.

Overall, this story is not a fanfic written by a fan but a possible cashgrab by professional writer under a different name.
