Reincarnated into a Game As the Hero’s Friend Chapter -- Discussion

Before the manga came out, I read this novel, and I stopped midway for the same reason that a lot of people have complained about.

Perhaps it's the translation or it's just the author's writing style, but when I was reading this, the info dumps were so redundant, very annoying, and boring to read through the concept, and the story overall is very good. It's like if 'Kingdom' were set in a fantasy world with a completely different goal.

This novel is very tell-not-show, which is why I really enjoyed reading the manga more. I can see that they cut out a bit of the info dump and focused on the political and tactical problems, and although they sprinkle in some "useless" info dumps, somehow it works. Perhaps it's just because it's in drawing form and not writing that the tell-not-show works.
