Firstly, before getting into this chapter, I gave the other player who is out of the picture but definitely coming back into it some thought. Like Kakyoin can come in as a surprise trump card, Hol Horse should have a horrific time seeing Abdul. Polnareff was the only protagonist who didn’t know Abdul was alive, but Hol Horse, his supposed killer, doesn’t know it either. At least assuming he didn't get the news. That means, when the fateful day comes, Hol Horse should have a heart attack. It’ll be like a ghost of a man he killed coming back for revenge. I also had a fantasy of Hol Horse being Dio's last standing ally due to how hard it is to kill that weasel.
This was a cute chapter, starting with Joseph waking up, Abdul commenting on how he slept, and Polnareff yelling for them to get downstairs! Then it became a comedy skit, Joseph going so far to think the hotel was slanted until it became absolutely apparent that he was a magnet. What I liked here was seeing Joseph be so polite with those girls, I seem to recall Joseph in Battle Tendency being a bit of a horndog. For Joseph nowadays, he had no time to waste!! The ending was the only time it got quite serious with the predicament Mariah put Joseph in.
I also like how Polnareff started to smoke in Oingo Boingo. He’s not a normal cool-guy type that we see smoking, in my experience his archetype defies that expectation. That is, not as a Frenchman, but as an adorably dumb badass.
